Oliver “Buck” and Bessie Brensing Undergraduate and Graduate Centennial Scholarship

were established by Buck and Bessie Brensing.  The Centennial Scholarship is designed to commemorate the 100 years since the establishment of Oklahoma State University in 1889.  Buck Brensing was born and raised near Skeedee, Oklahoma, northeast of Stillwater in Pawnee County.  He was a varsity football player at Oklahoma A & M and obtained his degree in Agronomy.  He first started work for the Agricultural Experiment Station in 1928 as a soil Surveyor.  He participated in much of the early soil fertility that was conducted in the Agronomy Department, and retired as an Assistant Professor of Agronomy in 1971.

This $1,000 scholarship is renewable for four years.  It is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student in plant and soil sciences.
