| Dr. Porter is a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma. After serving four years in the United States Marine Corps (1973-1977), he started his college education at the University of the Philippines at Los Baños. After two years at UPLB, he transferred to OSU and received a B.S. degree in agronomy in 1981, and an M.S. degree in agronomy in 1983. He then worked as a Rice Agronomist for Ring Around Products in south Texas prior to attending Texas Tech University, where he received a Ph.D. in agronomy in 1990. | |
