Research Area

Direct contemporary field-based winter wheat breeding and genetics program, dedicated to developing and releasing marketable bread-wheat cultivars for the southern Great Plains. Special emphasis placed on adaptation to dual-purpose management systems and acid soils. Release improved cultivars of hard red and hard white winter wheat for commercial production in Oklahoma and the southern Great Plains.
Conduct quantitative genetic research on agronomic and physiological traits in winter wheat, and develop breeding strategies to maximize genetic gains.
